Our Future

Our Future
As the needs of Ngāpuhi change so will the role of the Rūnanga. But in the short term there are new challenges for it to undertake.
Future projects include:
- Collecting, recording and distributing our stories and histories, which are fundamental to defining who we are as Ngāpuhi people.
- Developing closer relations with hapū, working with them to establish key fundamentals and projects that promote and further their wellbeing.
- Identifying and developing local economic initiatives.
- Assisting local Māori in natural resource management.
- Capturing the essence of our Ngāpuhitanga, and promoting and enhancing it: within Te Whare Tapu o Ngāpuhi, nationally and globally.
- Working side-by-side with key stakeholders like government agencies to ensure the future wellbeing of our tangata.
These are just some of the future projects. However more can be expected to come forth as we move forward.
