Over the last few months Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi-O-Ngāpuhi have been engaged in discussion with the Ngāpuhi nation over the settlement of crown breaches against Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Those discussions have centred around hapū representation in the settlement process of those breaches. To further support that process a full website has been created - Tūhoronuku.com

The website has drawn its name from the story of how our tūpuna Rāhiri settled and united the land for his two sons, Uenuku and Kaharau. It serves also as a metaphor for the dreams and aspirations of the Ngāpuhi nation.

The website launched on Monday 20 July, 2009. Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi-O-Ngāpuhi chairman, Rāniera Tau, said it marks an extremely important milestone and very useful tool in providing an opportunity for Ngapuhi and indeed the rest of the world to be informed of progress. "This will give the process significant visibility for our people here and off-shore" he said.

The website will contain updated news and press releases, consultation documents, notification of hui and also a feedback forum. This will be important in communicating responses from the roadshows carried out so far and the next round of roashows due to be carried out in September.
